FROME Medical Practice has appointed Karen Creffield as their new practice manager. Karen joined the practice at the beginning of September, having previously been head of sport, fitness and wellbeing at the University of Sussex.
“I have had an incredibly busy first few weeks in the job,” says Karen. “It is also a very exciting time to be joining, especially as the practice has only just adopted our brand new Patient Connect appointments system on the 15th November.”
Karen moved to Frome from Sussex with her family earlier this year. It was clear at the outset that Frome was a very special place for Karen. She has been greatly impressed at how welcoming everyone in the town has been, not only neighbours but also her new colleagues at the Frome Medical Practice.
“The state-of-the-art medical centre building, with its many innovative facilities and services was obviously a factor in me deciding to opt to both live and work in the town,’ adds Karen. “However, what really impressed me was the attitude of everyone towards patient care. I think that the new Patient Connect appointments system is just one example of improving service to patients, even at a time when everyone know that all GP surgeries are having to cope with real financial cuts in their budgets.”
The senior partner at the practice is Dr Helen Kingston, who said, “We are delighted to have Karen on board as a key member of our team, especially at such a time of change with our new Patient Connect appointments system being introduced. Karen brings with her a vast amount of experience and skill sets, essential to managing a modern and successful GP practice. My partners and I wish Karen every success in her new post.”
