A TEAM of 17 supporters of cancer charity We Hear You (WHY) ran the Bath Half Marathon on 15th October, raising more than £4,500 in sponsorship with donations still coming in.
Teams from WHY’s charity partner RWK Goodman solicitors in Bath and Selwood Academy, Frome and WHY officer and finance administrator Mark, were among this year’s runners.
Mark said, “It was a tremendous day, the atmosphere from the crowd helped to spur all the runners on and combined with the excellent weather it made the Bath Half a joy to be a part of. I’d like to thank everyone who donated and encouraged me throughout my training and leading up to the race. Despite some achy knees, I certainly now have the running bug.”
WHY fundraising and communications manager, Gemma Wilkes said, “The Bath Half is always a fab event in our fundraising calendar and we’re so proud of all our runners for completing this truly tough challenge and raising such a fantastic amount of much-needed money for We Hear You. We also think Sam probably enjoyed it more this year without the beekeeper’s suit and wellies he ran in in 2022! The Bath Half returns to its usual time of year in March 2024, so we’re already looking for our next Team WHY runners. If you’d like to join us, your place is free and we just ask that you raise £200 or more in sponsorship. Email me at: gemma.wilkes@wehearyou.org.uk if you’d like to know more.”
