FROME’S Izzy Neale, will represent Team GB at the International Motorbike Association (IMBA) second round in Belgium at the weekend.
Izzy, a Frome College student will race for Team GB at the IMBA European Ladies Championship this Sunday, 7th August.
Izzy said, “I first started racing motorbikes when I was seven years old, after seeing pictures of my dad racing from when he was younger. I have now been racing for nine years and have made my way on to bigger bikes over the years – I now race a Yamaha 250f.
“Now I’ve really got to test myself against some of the top women for motocross in the country with the race in Belgium and see what I’m capable of. If this round goes well, I’m hoping to be able to make it to other rounds (such as the French race later on in the year.)
“This is a brilliant opportunity to have and it’s what I’ve been working towards all these years, so it’s nice for the hard work in the gym, and training on the track to be paying off!
“A huge thank you to my coach, Rikki Priest, who has been guiding and advising me five years now – without him I wouldn’t have been able to progress to a level where I can race for Team GB!”
