A revolution in vehicles will be gathered at the Cheese and Grain on Sunday 29th March.
From 1.00pm around 30 Electric Vehicle (EV) Conversions will be gathered in the car park from all around the UK and beyond, to demonstrate how people have up-cycled their once-loved fossil-fuelled cars, bikes, vans and motor boats by “EVolving” them into zero emission electric vehicles.
This will be a celebration, not only of what is possible in the world of eco friendly up-cycling and electrified emission-free transport, but also of record breaking EV technology such as the world record holding electric motorbike and speed boat that will be on show.
This will be the biggest showcase of EV conversions in the UK and a chance for EV drivers and supporters to come along in their electric vehicles, to celebrate all electrified transportation and the transition to pollution-free travel.
Those not yet in the driving seat of an electric car will also be welcomed, to be inspired about the world of EVs and meet EV drivers and supporters.
The event is being organised by the UK charity Zero Carbon World, who are helping with the urgent need to decarbonise society and stop the run away effects of climate change. Personal transport produces 25% of the UK CO2 emissions and many other health-degrading particulates.
Zero Carbon World has donated more than 600 electric vehicle charging stations to “go to” venues in the hotel, tourist and leisure industry, creating an open use “destination” charging network called ZeroNet, helping with the transition of the electric vehicles.
The Cheese and Grain has donated two of their charging stations for use by visitors as well as Frome Town Council’s new community electric car share scheme. This was recently launched at the town’s growing Frome Potato Day and Seed Swap held on 8th February and will be a feature at the EVolution Show on Sunday 29th March from 1.00pm. There will also be a programme of free talks and presentations at the EVolution Show about electric vehicle conversions, technology, batteries and other EV delights. Details on www.zerocarbonworld.org
