THE Frome Times has travelled thousands of miles and been read by children from Mama Upendo Children’s Home in Kenya.
Back in October, the Frome Times wrote an article about Marston Foods choosing Frome-based charity Mama Upendo as one of their charities of the year.
Janet Millar from the charity said, “The kids from Mama Upendo Children’s Home in Kenya have been reading about the generosity of the staff at Marston Foods.
“I travelled out to the orphanage in October with my husband and grown-up kids and brought a copy of the Frome Times which describes the fundraising efforts of the staff at Marston Foods.
“The older kids are the most aware that people in Frome, particularly Marston Foods, are giving money for their education and their food, home and safety. The kids, small and older, we have them from 3 to 17, are aware of the generosity of others.
“Marston Foods chose us last January to be one of the three charities of the year. For us, a very small charity, it has helped our financial stability.”
