FROME Lions has a new president for 2022/2023 and for the first time in the club’s 55-year history, its leader is a woman.
The club reports, “At the recent handover lunch held at Frome Rugby Club, outgoing president Greg Wood handed over the reins to new president Beverley Windley who follows in the footsteps of her late husband Roger who was president on two occasions
“Lion Greg thanked his officers and fellow Lions for their support during his extended two-year stint in charge due to Covid and offered his best wishes to Lion Beverley for her term at the helm.
“Beverley thanked all present for coming to the handover and said she was looking forward to continuing with the long established charity work the Lions were renowned for in support of the community.”
