What sort of radio station would give a shed its own show? Frome FM, of course – a voice for all Frome’s community organisations.
The Frome Men’s Shed movement started as a place for retired men to get out of the house and spend time with their mates doing ‘bloke stuff’. And it gave them an opportunity to talk about their feelings which they might be reluctant to do elsewhere. It was such a good idea that it has become much more than men’s therapy and has spawned a variety of sheds all over the world. Like all good sheds, the Frome Men’s Shed, Women’s Shed, Make Shed and Tech Shed are all retreats where people can meet up, share resources, encourage each other and make stuff. Get a taste of shed life with The Shed Show on Frome FM. This month’s show is already up on the station’s ‘Listen Again’ platform at www.frome.fm. Visit www.techshedfrome. org/sheds for more details about the Frome Sheds.
Frome FM is based at the Town Hall on Christchurch Street, Frome and has two studios for local people to share their information, concerns and ideas with the diverse communities in Frome.
