Rehearsals are well underway for The Woodlanders’ annual charity fundraiser, which will be held from the 7th to 12th October at East Woodlands Village Hall.
“Time is quickly running out to buy tickets so anyone who doesn’t want to miss the phenomenon that is The Woodlanders should call our Box Office number 01373 764291 or 07510 919573 to buy their tickets,” said group member Trudi Whittock.
Show times are as follows – Monday to Friday – curtain up 7.45pm and Saturday – curtain up 2pm only (please note there is no Saturday evening performance).
The group has moved their Saturday performance to the afternoon to enable those who prefer not to be out in the dark evenings to still enjoy the show.
“You will love the intimate ‘cabaret’ style seating, which was introduced due to Covid but proved so popular that the style has been kept!” said Trudi. “You can now sit at a table and enjoy the complimentary nibbles while being entertained with famous songs – perhaps sung with a local twist, dancing that must be seen to be believed, sketches and jokes galore; there may even be a ukulele! You could even join us in a singalong – or just let the merriment wash over you and provide you with a feel-good factor, as they say – the choice is yours.”
There will be a cash bar to ensure the audience enjoys the entertainment on offer even more, along with a raffle featuring prizes galore.
“Come along and see how 11 local entertainers can keep you in fits of laughter for two hours. Once seen, never forgotten!
“Kerry Bishop will be on hand to provide the music with his usual flair, panache and style,” Trudi added.
The Woodlanders were established in 1977 and over that time, they have raised well over £120,000 for local charities; all profits this year will again be donated to local good causes.
Ticket prices are £10 for Monday’s performance and £12.50 for all other performances. For tickets, please call the box office on 01373 764291 or 07510 919573 or email annhart68@ymail.com.
