A GROUP of local women known as the Frome Flyers will walk a marathon in their bras next month.
The Frome Flyers will be taking part in MoonWalk London 2014, an annual walk for charity.
Jacqui Close, Kate Atkinson, Janet O’Brien, Gretel Hughes, Margaret Yerbury and Mary Atkinson, who is from Ireland will take part in the event which involves walking up to 26.2 miles to raise money for charity.
The group decided to take on the challenge after both Kate and Margaret received treatment for cancer previously. So far the group are soaring having raised over £1,400 of their £1,500 target.
Janet said, “We’ve created this team because we want to raise money and make a difference by participating in The MoonWalk London 2014.
“Despite the odd glass of wine our training is going well and we recently walked a half marathon. Knees, hips, ankles and feet apart we are all flying”
The MoonWalk is an event organised by breast cancer charity Walk the Walk which involves over 15.000 women power walking either a marathon or a half marathon in their bras.
