A CHANCE meeting between Christopher Moss and Helen Rowlinson, three poodles and much hard work and a long held, eclectic dream rises like a phoenix; The Three Swans is open for business!
Chris, originally from London, moved to Frome three years ago. A cabinet maker and clock restorer by trade and now freehold owner of the transformed Three Swans in King Street, Frome.
“When I first met Helen I knew she would be perfect to run the pub,” Chris said with the ever-present miniature poodle, Byron, sitting on his knee. “I had my eye on The Three Swans and when it became vacant I didn’t hesitate. With the help of some great tradesmen we’ve achieved what I first envisioned; a diverse, comfortable retreat to enjoy a drink”
“This is where I belong,” Helen told the Frome Times. “I live here now with my partner, Spence, and my dogs, Evee and Dolly, and I feel like I’ve found my niche. We will be open initially every evening Monday to Thursday and Friday to Sunday all day. We plan to serve food when the kitchens are refurbished in March; proper pub grub! It will be a concise menu of comfort food, with the emphasis on local and unpretentious. For now we have the talented Anna Summers creating bar nibbles daily. Quiches, calzones, sausage rolls, tomato chutney – all home-made and totally delicious!”
With a beautiful function room, two cosy bars and even toilets worth a trip to see, The Three Swans is a real welcome addition to Frome’s blossoming array of good pubs and restaurants.
Chris has achieved a feast for the eye. “Much of what adorns the pub was sourced through auctions and the inevitable eBay!” Chris explained. “It has been a labour of love that has been a very personal quest for me and I hope gives locals somewhere warm and charming to enjoy a pint!”
With Chris’ eye for detail and Helen’s warm welcome, The Three Swans is the place to be.
