SNOW is falling, children are playing – and a Frome care home is opening its doors to help combat loneliness in the community this festive season.
Care UK’s Rossetti House on Welshmill Lane, helped members of the community to get into the festive spirit by joining residents and team members for their festive knit and natter group On Tuesday 12th December. It was part of Care UK’s ‘care to share’ initiative, designed to support older people through the festive season.
To make the event extra special, the home’s head chef prepared a Christmas-themed afternoon tea with freshly baked goodies for everyone to enjoy.
Philip Vale, general manager at Rossetti House, said, “Our regular knit and natter group is always incredibly popular with members of the community – providing a wonderful opportunity to have a chat and make some friends and, this month, we put a festive spin on things.
“Our ‘care to share’ initiative gives us the chance to support people in the community and we hope the special event proved enjoyable for all involved. The team and residents here at Rossetti House are happy to be sharing our Christmas cheer as we open the doors for some festive fun!”
In the lead-up to Christmas, Rossetti House hosted a multitude of events for the local community to join in, including their Christmas Fair on Sunday 10th December which featured music, craft stalls, a tombola and a raffle – providing fun for all the family. All the proceeds will be donated to Frome Fair food bank.
