A TOPPING out ceremony at The Old Printworks in Frome has marked a “momentous milestone” says developers Acorn Property Group.
Located at the former Butler, Tanner and Dennis site, previously home to one of Britain’s most foremost colour printers, a topping out ceremony was held at The Old Print Works to mark the structural completion of one of the final apartment blocks.
The managing director of Acorn Bristol, Robin Squire and operations manager, Mike Clements fitted a roof light dome on top of the building to signify its completion.
The ceremony was attended by key personnel who have contributed to the development thus far, including Acorn construction and design staff, Joint Venture partners London and County, architects PAD-Design and PFA Consultancy.
Situated within walking distance of Frome town centre, the award-winning development is comprised of two, three and four bedroom homes and Acorn says it has proved extremely popular with buyers.
Regional managing director at Acorn’s Bristol office, Robin Squire, commented, “A thriving community within The Old Printworks has been growing since its first residents moved in, with the new homeowners demonstrating their neighbourly spirit by organising a number of events including an open garden event to raise funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
“The topping out ceremony at The Old Printworks marks a momentous milestone not only for the apartments but for the overall development. The Old Printworks is another excellent example of Acorn’s commitment to the regeneration of brownfield sites.
“We placed a large emphasis on creating a community feel within The Old Printworks, where neighbours could come together to enjoy the green open spaces and new boardwalk along the River Frome. We’re delighted that the homeowners have really embraced this community spirit and are coming together over their shared love of The Old Printworks. We’re extremely proud of this development and we look forward to completing the construction of the final phase.”
Managing director at London and County, Simon Blair, added, “It’s very exciting to see the significant progress made in the construction of The Old Printworks. The development has already won over the hearts of the current residents, and is a testament to all involved and the enormous benefits that regenerating previous brownfield sites can have on a community.”
The third and final phase of the development is under construction with homes recently released for sale. Interested parties are advised to speak to the sales team as soon as possible as demand continues to be high at this popular scheme.
