AFTER its first successful event last year, Frome Kindness Festival will be back in March spreading positivity and goodwill around the town and they are asking the community to get involved.
The second Frome Kindness Festival in March this year will build on everything that local people said they enjoyed in the first Kindness Festival.
“We will be spreading a message of warm-heartedness and goodwill and helping us all to celebrate, practice and understand the difference that kindness can make in our lives,” said the organisers.
“Once again there will be a mixture of school assemblies and workshops (which in 2022 reached over 2,000 pupils); thought-provoking discussion and debate; a gala evening at the Merlin Theatre; creative workshops; and spontaneous Acts of Kindness around the town.”
The Kindness Festival is supported by Frome Town Council and organised by The Good Heart, a local non-profit whose aim is to explore and promote kindness in Frome.
“If you’d like to join in there are plenty of opportunities coming up: not only by joining the ‘Kindness Crew’; the dream team that runs the festival, but also by helping to run the Warm Spaces initiative – a free and accessible café space open to everyone in the afternoons and at weekends over the winter,” said a spokesperson for the group.
“Kindness is a universal human quality and the goal of the Festival is to provide something for everyone, young or old. All individuals, organisations, schools and businesses in the town will be invited to take part in whatever way works best for them.”
One of the Kindness Crew members who helped to organise the first festival last year said, “Being part of the Kindness Festival was a wonderful experience just putting in the intention to be kind and to raise the concept of kindness is so powerful, and the outcome is massive.”
Jess Francombe, one of the core team, said, “It’s a new year and a new start. Connect with your community, improve your own health and spread a little kindness by volunteering with The Good Heart.”
Previous volunteers said, “It’s been an absolute pleasure, we’ve made some amazing friends.” “It’s been such a lovely community to join and be part of over the last few months.”
“I will never forget the friends I’ve made.”
