A new school year always brings excitement, but this year has been extra special for Trinity First School.
Over the summer holiday, staff and parents worked hard to prepare an area of land that they share with neighbouring schools to enable it to be used for providing a ‘Forest School’ provision.
Paths were cut, shelters were built, tyre swings were hung and the area generally made safe and accessible for children of all ages and abilities.
There has been a great buzz amongst the staff and by the end of September fortnightly lessons have been established. Children have loved the experience and have taken part in a range of activities, including shelter building, making animal feeders and eating around a camp fire.
Broadening the children’s educational experience is a priority for the school and this is another huge step towards achieving this goal.
