As part of their topic ‘Can we eat biscuits every day?’ the children in Key Stage 1 at Vallis First School visited several cafes around Frome asking questions about biscuits.
Whilst they were visiting The Old Bakehouse in Cheap Street, Robin the baker challenged them to design their own biscuit based on the character from the book they have been studying – ‘Biscuit Bear’.
The children had a fun time designing their biscuits and as a prize Robin displayed all of the entries and chose a winner from each class and made their designs into biscuits.
The Old Bakehouse also made Biscuit Bears for all the children in Key Stage 1.
The children and staff of Vallis would like to say a huge thank you to those cafes who were happy to participate in their survey and very kindly donated some free samples, particularly The Old Bakehouse, Paccamorra Café, La Strada and Costa.
