This spring sees the start of a vegetable growing course open to all age groups from 16-116, including first-time growers and old hands alike.
It will run every other Thursday, 1st March to 24th May (excluding Easter half -erm) at the Welsh Mill Hub on Welsh Mill Lane. It is totally free, but organisers request a £20 deposit to secure a place.
The course will explain everything from sowing seeds to harvesting crops. It will include the basics of planning, nurturing plants to maturity, dealing with pests and diseases and maintaining a healthy soil.
The team says, “At the end of the six weeks we hope you will leave with the confidence to grow your own, hopefully making a few new friends in the process.”
To apply: Email dave johnhamilton@gmail.com with your name and a short paragraph (no more than 100 words), explaining where you plan to grow and why you want to enrol on the course.
