LEIGH On Mendip pub, The Bell Inn, has new owners behind the bar – and they have big plans for its future!
Emma and John Hitchins took over the pub last month, and they plan to transform the pub into a hub for the community. Their plans include a new village shop, a refurbished skittle alley, special food offers, and new opening hours – The Bell Inn is now open all day.
“We’ve got lots planned,” said Emma speaking to Frome Times. “Community is very important to us – we are trying to build the pub into a hub for everyone.
“We’re opening a village shop in a couple of weeks, we’re putting a new roof on the pub, and we are upgrading the skittle alley. There are also new cycle racks outside the pub, so cyclists park their bikes and enjoy a visit to the pub.
“We have also introduced senior roasts, which are available every Wednesday lunchtime, and on Saturdays we are serving breakfasts. We also offer a food takeaway service too. It’s going really well – the locals have been really friendly. And we are doing everything that we can to keep our customers safe and make the pub Covid-safe – we are adhering to all the rules.”
The Bell Inn, Leigh On Mendip, is open Monday to Friday 12pm until close; Saturday 9.30am until close; and Sunday 12 until close – food is served 12pm-4pm on Sunday.
