FROME felt artist, Bessie Bidder, has been working with local schools and communities to create large felt displays, funded by the Arts Council England.
Bessie has recently completed a project to create large felt murals for the villages of Mells and Beckington.
Community groups came together to take part including The Mells Beavers and Scouts, Mells Knitting Group, elderly people’s coffee mornings at Lahs Place Beckington, open community sessions in the Mells Barn, plus all 150 school children at Beckington CofE primary school and Mells CofE primary school and nursery.
The pictures are now hanging in shared school and community halls for all to enjoy and postcards of the projects have been made and are for sale.
