Frome’s branch of the Royal British Legion is seeking help with this year’s Poppy Appeal.
Volunteers are needed to help man the supermarket stands, collecting donations from the last week of October.
“The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal is one of the nation’s biggest and best-loved charitable appeals, supported by a large number of volunteers who are a much-valued part of their community,” said local Poppy Appeal organiser, Richard Aspray.
“Last year, Frome and District raised over £41,000 towards the Poppy Appeal with the help of its own dedicated team of volunteers.
“This year we are seeking additional volunteers from the last week in October until Saturday 9th November.”
All donations raised during the Poppy Appeal help the Royal British Legion to provide life-long support to serving and ex-serving members of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependents through hardships, injuries and bereavements.
Richard said, “Could you support our local Poppy Appeal this year? Do you know someone that could help us to support veterans and their families who are in need?”
If you could give just a couple of hours of your time to help Frome’s contribution to the Poppy Appeal, then please contact Richard on 07511 961248 for further information.
