FROME Town has raised over £2,000 to keep the club going during the current crisis.
“The community has really come together and I have to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated, helped and shared our campaign,” said Scott Fitzgibbon – Marketing Manager.
“We are delighted with the response from our supporters and the local community we are indebted to their generosity at this time. We can honestly say that we didn’t believe that we would reach the target based on individual donations.
“It’s only right to single out the wonderful donations from IMS Ltd who have ensured that everyone in Frome will be able to attend a match next season for free as well as NatWest for their amazing staff collection.
The club has raised £20,250 from its Crowdfunder campaign in just 28 days to secure its future with 300 supporters donating. Local company IMS have paid £2,000 to buy every person in Frome a ticket to a designated match next season while 220 fans bought plaques to feature their names on seats in the stadium; each will receive a unique pin badge as a thank you.
A draw with be held at a later date to choose a winner to name the stadium for next season.
The club has set a new target of £30,000 which will allow it to get through the entire summer without the financial pressure of securing additional funding and give the club room to find new sponsors to come on board.
