A well-used footbridge in Frome is to be closed for five days to allow improvement work to take place.
The bridge, which links the Cattle Market car park and the Westway Shopping Centre, will be closed from Monday 26th September to Friday 30th September.
While the bridge is closed, pedestrians are asked to use the nearby Jenson Button footbridge.
Stuart Finney, Mendip’s group manager for neighbourhood services said, “The footbridge has deteriorated over time so we are going to completely re-deck it and improve the bridge for the many people that use it each day.
“I would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this closure may cause and would ask people to use the nearby Jenson Button bridge while we complete the work.”
