PRIZE winners of the Frome Art Society’s Spring into Summer art exhibition, hosted at Black Swan Arts, have been announced. Emma Le Lohe won first place with her mosaic ‘Coastal Treasure 1’; Wendy Lovegrove won the second prize with her painting ‘Highland Bull’; and third prize went to Melissa Wishart with ‘River in Early Morning Light.’
“Emma Le Lohe was delighted to receive the Vera Skinner award of £200,” said Frome Art Society. “Her small mosaic, ‘Coastal Treasure 1’ caught the eye of the judge, the acclaimed local artist David A Parfitt, when he realised the intricate landscape had a little surprise – a tiny door which opened to reveal beachcombing treasure.
“Second prize went to Wendy Lovegrove for her delightful oil painting, ‘Highland Bull’ and third prize to Melissa Wishart for her atmospheric, ‘River in Early Morning Light’.
“For many years The Black Swan has been a very popular venue with Frome Art Society members and this year is no exception, with over 90 works of art on show.
“In addition to art on the wall, there is a great selection of affordable cards and unframed work.”
The exhibition runs until Sunday 14th May. It is open every day from 10am to 4pm and entry is free.
