THE November film to be shown on Friday 10th is The Banshees of Inisherin.
It’s the 1920s on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland and every day dairy farmer Pádraic (Colin Farrell) calls on his friend Colm and the pair go for a drink at the pub. But one day Colm (Brendan Gleeson) suddenly puts an end to their lifelong friendship. Devastated, Pádraic refuses to accept the rejection and with help from his sister Siobhán and a troubled young islander, sets out to try to repair the damaged relationship.
However, the situation deteriorates and Colm gives him a brutal ultimatum.
“It’s a very black comedy,” says organiser Liz Hunt. “With stunning scenery and superb performances from the whole cast.”
