Black Swan Arts are asking for children to get creative for their Young Open Competition.
Emma Warren, centre manager at Black Swan Arts said, “Do you enjoy painting, sculpture, jewellery, pottery, model making, drawing…in fact, any sort of creative art? Would you like to see your work on display in a professional art gallery?
“The fourth Young Open competition is now taking place; the hugely successful arts event for school age children.
“Since 2013 over 500 children aged between eight and 19 from over 150 different schools in the region have entered original pieces of arts and craft.
“In each age category: eight-11, 12-15, 16-19 there are four Winners and four Highly Commended. Each winner receives a half day workshop from a professional artist and over the years these one-on-one experiences have been very well received.
“Older children have benefited from having their work professionally curated, and students from Frome College in particular have commented that it has positively impacted their chances when applying to art colleges.
“Although the majority of entries are by individuals, Black Swan Arts will work closely with local schools to encourage entries from children from all backgrounds.
“Don’t miss this amazing chance to get your creativity noticed and win fabulous prizes! Deadline for entries is Wednesday 24th February and full details are on the website www.blackswan.org.uk ”
