The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare in Frome recently held a bumper hamper raffle raising £100 towards the Holy Trinity Church’s Gardening Gala.
The company supplied the goodies for the hamper and the raffle was held during the Gardening Gala, held at the Holy Trinity Church. The event also featured a garden hamper raffle, plants and seedlings table, free gardening advice from local experts, bee keeping table, crafts and bluetit nesting boxes, homemade cakes and jams, amongst many other stalls and tables.
Jayne Keitch, funeral co-ordinator at the Southern Co-operative Funeralcare said, “I was in charge of the raffle, and our hamper took pride of place alongside a lovely herb garden in a basket and other prizes.
“We raised about £100 with The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare hamper raffle and overall the Gardening Gala raised £935 towards the church’s refurbishment project.
“It was a fun day with lots of people coming through and not only buying things, but receiving gardening advice and enjoying cream teas and cakes. I will certainly look forward to joining in with next year’s event!”
The church in Frome is raising money towards their recently completed refurbishment project which involved a complete renewal of the interior of the building.
