The Memorial this September offers an evening of musical celebration and also an opportunity to see the ‘Peoples Medium’.
‘Beyond The Barricade’ – Friday 12th September, 7.30pm: Celebrating its 15th fantastic year with a sensational new show for 2014, the UK’s longest running musical theatre concert, ‘Beyond the Barricade’ re-creates original West End / Broadway musical hit songs with amazing authenticity, and features a cast of past principal performers from the West End production of ‘Les Miserables’ and the 25th Anniversary Concert at the 02 Arena.
This production will look back over the show’s amazing 15 years and include many of the musicals that have made it the UK’s leading concert of its kind, including ‘Miss Saigon’, ‘The Lion King’, ‘Phantom Of The Opera’, ‘West Side Story’, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘The Jersey Boys’ and many more hit musical productions, climaxing with a spectacular finale from, of course, ‘Les Miserables’!
The show carries on growing and developing, but never loses sight of its original premise to deliver the songs with the truth and conviction intended by their composers.
‘Beyond the Barricade’ claimed its own space in the history of musical theatre shows when the production reached its 10th anniversary in 2009 and celebrated in style with a Gala Concert at the Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Their concert venues now include theatres in Ireland, Spain, Malta and Denmark, and most recently on the three Cunard liners, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary 2, and Queen Victoria, but their continued presence on the theatre scene in the UK is down to the fantastic support of the audience.
