A NIGHT of live music, skate footage and community support has raised just under £1,000 towards Frome’s new skatepark.
Frome Skatepark Project (FSP) held the live music event at The Tunnels on Friday 2nd October.
Local acts Hell Death Fury and The 41 Fords performed before headliners Far-Cue took to the stage.
Footage supplied by local skater Jude Godber and skateboarding animation created by Cuba Chapman were shown on the venue’s big screen throughout the evening.
Ticket and merchandise sales raised just under £1,000, with the money helping fund a new skatepark for Frome.
FSP member and event organiser Emma Painter said, “What a night. Our aim was to put on something that people would genuinely enjoy while raising money and awareness for the new skatepark and the response was fantastic.
“There was such a great atmosphere all night and raising almost £1,000 on top of that makes it even better.
“We’re a volunteer group and events like this only work because people get behind them. Every gig ticket, T-shirt, sweatshirt, tote bag and donation helps move us a little closer to making the new skatepark a reality.”
Frome Skatepark Project is working alongside Frome Town Council to raise the money needed to create a new skatepark for the town. The project has a fundraising target of £400,000.
