A NEW exhibition titled ‘Journey’ is launching next month at the Silk Mill Studios and Gallery.
‘Journey’ is a series of collaborative and individual paintings, by local artists Anna Perra and Tony Church, exploring the Abstract period and its techniques.
The exhibition runs from 3rd to 9th May, 11am to 6.30pm each day, at the Silk Mill Studios and Gallery. A launch party is being held on Thursday 5th May – everyone is welcome – from 7pm till late.
Journey displays art using a variety of mixed media from acrylic inks and paint, spray paint, charcoal, plaster to Posca acrylic markers. The colours are bold and bright to reflect excitement, life and creativity.
“Each artwork represents passion, fears, obstacles, victory, love, joy, companionship and challenges,” says Anna.
Tony adds, “A pure and genuine soul connection. A journey of discovery reflecting each other through compositions, marks, lines, forms and colours within each painting”
Tony Church is a Somerset artist graduating with a specialism in printmaking from the University of Wales Institute in Cardiff, deeply fascinated by forms and colours.
Anna Perra was born in Rome and has lived in the UK since 1996. She is a self-taught artist with a passion for art, who only started painting during the lockdown. Believing that everything is possible, she started expressing her feelings and creativity onto a canvas.
“This is an exciting exhibition and opportunity to view this collection of art, to meet and talk to the artists and learn about their inspiration and techniques.,” says the gallery.
