Vallis First School pupil, Ava, is only 5 years of age but in those short years she has shown a passion for collecting and a sample of her collection is on show at Frome Heritage Museum until the end of May.
Her class is expected to visit the museum very soon to view Ava’s treasures which include fragments of pottery discovered in her garden and a collection of natural objects. These are displayed in the Cabinet of Curiosities and Ava has written her own account of her interest in collecting.
All members of the public who may wish to share their collections, whether they are fossils, minerals, bones, artefacts of archaeological interest or other example of natural science, are welcome to contact Frome Museum to use the recently purchased secure display unit. There is a waiting list of keen collectors who will have a month each to show their precious collections to visitors of the museum.
Anyone who is interested in adding their names for a future monthly slot are invited to leave their details at the desk during the opening hours of: 10.00am-2.00pm or by ringing: 01373 454611 at any time giving contact details, or email info@frome-heritage-museum.org
