FROME stop War group is hosting an evening with award-winning international reporter and peace activist, Eva Bartlett, at the Cheese & Grain this Thursday, 1st February at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).
Her talk is entitled “Syria, Lies & Videotape’ and Frome Stop War groups says, “The near seven year conflict in Syria is hopefully drawing to a close. Portrayed as a ‘civil war’ by the mainstream, establishment and corporate media, the people of Syria have suffered what has been another regime change exercise orchestrated from outside the country.
“Thankfully, hostilities are drawing to a close, with 600,000 citizens having returned to East Aleppo. Thousands of acres of terrorist-laid mines have been cleared, including civilian homes where booby traps were waiting for returning residents.
“Someone who visited Syria six times since the commencement of hostilities, Eva Bartlett has fearlessly reported what the mainstream media would not, or dare not.
“She gathered testimony from Syrian civilians, she dared to oppose the mainstream narrative which similarly brought Libya to its knees, turning that once peaceful nation into a haven for extremists. She is unbelievably brave, intelligent, insightful and above all, she speaks truth to power. The most insidious manifestation of that power being the compromised establishment and corporate media.
“Eva will reveal just some of their deceptions, manipulations, omissions in the footage she filmed in Syria and from first hand from citizens who’ve suffered under yet another Western construct for ‘democracy and freedom,’ which has brought nothing but death and destruction, just like Iraq and Libya before it.
“Please come to hear legendary Eva on Thursday 1st February. Tickets £8 each, concessions £5, are available from the Cheese & Grain box office on 01373-455420 or book online at Cheese & Grain website – tickets. For enquiries please call: 01373-839038.
