Baked Alaska – time to change the temperature

Riding Lights Theatre Company comes to Frome to serve up a sharp and deliciously comic slice of ‘Baked Alaska’ – bringing interconnecting stories of the wild and unpredictable effects of climate change from the four corners of the earth.

Scientists, farmers, oil magnates, climate warriors, prophets, mothers, journalists and others just like you and me – we’re all in the mix and hungry for a recipe of hope. In the struggle over power, some sound the warming bell, some blow hot and cold, while others make a pudding of the planet.

In the ‘seriously funny’ style for which Riding Lights is well known, ‘Baked Alaska’ presents the reality of climate change like you’ve never heard it before, in a show fizzing with music and wit.

The show will be performed on Tuesday 13th October, 7.30pm, at the Cheese and Grain, Market Yard, Frome, BA11 1PN

The show is presented in partnership with Christian Aid, Operation Noah and the Diocese of Lichfield, hoping to raise a compassionate voice in the run up to the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Paris this December.

Ann Burden of Christian Aid commented, “This year is a crucial one, ahead of the Paris summit in December. Climate change hits the poorest the hardest. We’d like to encourage everyone to get involved, raise concerns with local MPs and be part of the answer. ”
