Barclay James Harvest will play at the Cheese and Grain later this month just one day after their Glastonbury Festival debut.
The melodic rockers will play the Frome venue on Saturday 25th June at 8pm.
Founding member John Lees continues to tour with the band – now referred to at John Lees’ Barclay James Harvest – after the death of his co-star Stuart ‘Woolly’ Wolstenholme in 2010.
The melodic rock band with classical leanings emerged from Oldham in the late sixties and produced nine studio albums and two live doubles in the first decade.
The ‘60s and ‘70s were considered their most creative and productive, churning out such classics as “Mocking Bird”, “Galadriel”, “Child Of The Universe” and “Hymn”.
John stayed with BJH after ‘Woolly’ left in 1979, and it would be nearly twenty years before the guitar and keyboard legends would work together again before Woolly’s death.
International tours and prestigious festival appearances have once again become the norm for JLBJH, and as their fans worldwide dictate, long may the story continue.
