A BLIND local runner and a team from Somerset Sight completed the Frome Half Marathon earlier this month.
Liam Harkness, a blind runner from Frome, ran the race alongside Somerset Sight trustee Zdenek Gregor and Dan Gregor. They finished in 2 hours and 7 minutes, and have raised over £2,500.
Liam said, “I have been helped by so many great organisations since I lost my sight, so I’m glad to be able to give back to a fantastic local charity which does so much amazing work for visually impaired people.”
Somerset Sight’s Holly Sutton said, “Running a half marathon is a huge achievement. It would be a challenge to someone who could see well. I’d like to congratulate Liam, Zdenek and Dan on such a great race. Without the generosity of our supporters we simply would not be able to continue providing our vital services.”
The trio are still collecting money – to sponsor them go online to
