‘BRITAIN’S Got Talent’ team is coming to Frome to search out new talent.
The popular TV talent show will be holding auditions in the Frome Assembly Rooms on Monday 12th October from 5pm and whatever your talent may be, they would love to see you.
Memorial Theatre volunteer Norman Elmer has been working with the television show’s production team to organise the auditions.
He said, “The scouts for Thames Television’s Britain’s Got Talent asked the Frome Musical Theatre Company via their website if there was any talent in the town. I was asked to reply to them and of course I told them the truth, that we have loads of talented people!
“As their point of contact I was asked to get the message out there. So far I have filled all the slots that were available on the 12th so at my request they will return again on the afternoon of the 13th at 4pm until 6pm should we have sufficient demand.
“These auditions are for any age and any talent, that is they are not restricted to the musical arts. Time slots of four or five minutes will be provided for those who apply to take part. They must be there at least ten minutes ahead of their audition to allow paperwork to be completed. The auditions will be held in front of two people from the BGT team and a camera. Entrants should bring their own accompaniment if required, although a piano can be provided. There will be a Bluetooth speaker available for backing tracks. The whole thing will be informal and friendly.
“All ages and performers are welcome but anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. You must also book a slot in advance prior to the day. To book contact me on elmer@ roddenbury.co.uk.
“Also, on April 24th 2016, The Rotary Club of Frome will be hosting a Frome’s Got Talent show in the Memorial Theatre and I will also be the point of contact for applications to perform in that show. Details will be released in November!”
