CATS in Distress, an independent cat welfare, rehoming and rehabilitation charity celebrated their 2nd birthday on Saturday 12th May, raising over £1,200.
Ginny Parratt of Cats in Distress said, “What a wonderful day we had. We were totally amazed by the huge turnout. Our volunteers made cakes galore and a delicious barbecue made sure no-one went hungry. The sun shone and children played on the lawn.
“Spering Court Animal Rescue brought along their magnificent rescued birds of prey and a rather large snake. We raised over £1,200 – a fantastic amount – and it was lovely to get such great feedback from everyone about what we’re doing.”
Cats in Distress recently launched an appeal to raise funds for new cat pens, allowing the charity the facilities to look after and rehome more cats. Now that they have raised enough money, and have had the pens built, they are inviting donators and visitors to come and see the finished pens.
They have recently welcomed Tommy, their newest lodger and rescue cat, who is being hand-reared as he was abandoned by his mum.
