A series of free talks around climate change and energy have been taking place at Frome Town Hall.
The third event “Global Energy Trends” will be on the 23rd November, 7pm – 9pm. Nikki Jones, a researcher and writer on climate change and energy, explores a range of important issues. The talks culminate in an evening of discussion and planning on how we can work together to address these important subjects and take action.
After this month’s talk, the series continues into next year with the following events:
14th December – UK Energy, Emissions and Targets
15th February 2018 – Is Nuclear the Answer?
22nd March – Land Use and Climate Change
19th April – The Way Forward
This is a valuable opportunity to learn more about the world around us. Roger Saunders who helped to organise the series said, “Nikki is a fantastic speaker and we are lucky that she is giving her time for free to raise awareness and collect donations for Solar Aid.
“Climate change can be a confusing subject but it is an issue that affects us all as our climate begins to change. Locally flood risks are increasing and air pollution is high in many areas. Do join us for an informative and interesting evening”
Entry is completely free and refreshments are provided. Frome Town Council is hosting the series, with support from Sustainable Frome and East Mendip Green Party. For more information see: frometown council.gov.uk/cleanfuture
