A large crowd at St John’s Church listened to Frome College students and staff present an outstanding seasonal musical celebration on Monday 12th December.
The musical talent on offer at the college featured the College Choir, jazz band, orchestra, Shotgun Marimba, Fiddlestix, ukulele orchestra, brass ensemble, solo performances and congregational carols.
The school’s Jane Davis said, “It is always a pleasure to entertain the community at this very festive event, and to help get everyone in the Christmas mood. At the end of the concert everyone enjoyed refreshments and mince pies to congratulate the performers.
“The well supported retiring collection will be split between Dorothy House and the college’s music department, to help support our students to continue hosting great events such as this.
“It has been another very busy term at Frome College and we feel privileged to work regularly with such talented young people; some are established musicians and others have only recently begun their musical journey.
“The concert involves over 80 students and our heartfelt thanks and congratulations go out to them all. Our thanks also go to the many staff, peripatetic teachers and parents who help to make these occasions possible. Our thanks also go to James Wallis and Daniel Weston in Year 13 for fantastic photography on the night.
“May we take this opportunity to wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
