For the 3rd year running, Frome College students are through to the National Final of the Cybercenturion Competition.
Three Frome College teams have been taking part over the last 13 weeks, with a total of 5 online competitions, each lasting 6 hours on Sundays. For many of the students this was their first time in the competition, and with only the top 10 teams in the country going through to the finals, the pressure was on.
“With the scores in, we have succeeded in having two teams through to the final!” said Maggie Love, Cybercenturion Project Lead. “We thought at first, one team may have just been edged out of the top 10 at the last minute – literally, when another team scored 4 points, putting them ahead. But once the scores were in, we had beaten them! Our third team acquitted themselves very well being 14th nationally! Having two in the final is incredible.
“Our congratulations go to our 3 teams:- Tom Haines, Matt Haines, Connor Cairns, Hamish Murray and Jake Howell; Joe Malley, Morgan Curle, Dylan Oliver and Adam Kerslake; and James Kerley, Adrian Nouchin, Jack Flagg and Toby Paton.
The National Final will take place at the Institute of Engineering & Technology in London on 8 March
