DUKE of Edinburgh volunteers from Frome College have been helping Friends of River Frome clean up the town.
Several students from the college have spent 30 hours each this summer removing a number of large clumps of Himalayan balsam from Rodden Meadow in Frome.
Walkers, fisherman and riverside landowners continue to contribute to the effort and as a result, the invasive weed is now under control. Friends of the River Frome will continue to remove any remaining invasive plants before their seeds mature.
