National Fitness Day is this week, on Wednesday 25th September and to help Somerset residents get motivated and get moving, Fusion Lifestyle members and the community will be invited to take part in a challenge to cycle the circumference of the UK.
The 11,073-mile ride challenge will be completed by members, non-members and staff on fitness bikes at Frome Sport and Fitness, Strode Swimming Pool & Fitness, Tor Sports & Leisure Centre, Wells Leisure Centre and Fusion centres across the country, sending a message to the nation about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
National Fitness Day aims to highlight both the physical and mental benefits of an active lifestyle and Fusion will be welcoming both new and existing members to take part in the challenge.
National Fitness Day activity doesn’t stop there, as most Fusion centres all over the UK will be opening their doors to the public, with a series of community open days on 28th and 29th September. The open days will give local residents the chance to visit their nearest centre and take part in a programme of classes, fun swims and more. To find out more about open days near you, contact your local leisure centre for more information.
Rob Taylor of Fusion Lifestyle said, ‘‘We are committed to helping people achieve their health and fitness goals and giving local communities access to top quality leisure facilities. Our National Fitness Day cycle challenge and our open days will give everyone the chance to have some fun with fitness, whether they are a member or not.”
