THE Friends of Easthill are hosting an event next week to promote their work to safeguard the much-loved green space.
At the event on Sunday 10th April, the group are hosting a photography exhibition, live music, a raffle, and children’s activities including a bug hunt – all to promote why Easthill field is so special and the ongoing campaign to safeguard it from development.
The Friends of Easthill say, “Posters and flyers are being printed, exhibition photographs selected, cake recipes perused. The velvet curtains are being made for the grand unveiling and first public viewing of the wonderful Easthill embroidery, by renowned Frome artist Corinna Sargood.
“The photographic exhibition will celebrate the amazing wildlife, magnificent trees and the landscape at Easthill. Local people have posted photographs of what they have seen at Easthill on the Friends of Easthill Field Facebook page. The exhibition will include many of these images.
“So, if you have shared any of your photographs, we encourage you to come and look for them in the exhibition. The stars of the show will include some of the more than 300 types of moths so far recorded at Easthill.
“Bring your family and friends, eat cake, buy plants, sign the petition to safeguard Easthill, join the bug hunt, make a nature crown, find out about moths and trees, listen to live music, clap and cheer when the embroidery is unveiled, win a print of Corinna Sargood’s Easthill embroidery in the raffle!”
The showcase is on Sunday 10th April at RISE Whittox Lane, Frome, BA11 3BY, between 11am and 4pm. Entry is free.
The Friends say, “If you can offer time on the day to help, we would love to hear from you. Please contact The Friends of Easthill by email: friendsofeasthillfield@gmail.com; or call Terésa on 07746 780 746.”
