THERE’S still time to visit the Frome artists taking part in the Somerset Art Works’ ‘Open Studios’ event.
One of the venues taking part in the event, Gurnville Cottages, says, “More artists in Frome are taking part in Somerset Art Works Open Studios this year than in previous years. Most of those are in the centre of Frome at the Silk Mill where a number of artists have their studios.
“However, there are a number of us running individual venues in different areas of the town. Our venue at Gurnville Cottages, Little Keyford Lane, is right on the edge of Frome. It includes three artists; a painter, printer and weaver – Kate Cochrane, Viv Meadows, and Sarah Truscott.
“Located on the edge of Somerset and on the edge of Frome, Gurnville Cottages is a lovely venue, including garden space.
“Being on the edge of town always presents certain dilemmas, such as how do we bring ourselves to the attention of those in the Keyford and nearby area of Frome, who might appreciate our range of art. But we have signposts!”
Somerset Art Works have produced a map of venues throughout the county and an interactive map: https://somersetartworks.org.uk/what-we-do/art-weeks/sos2021/
The Open Studios event runs until this Sunday, 3rd October.
