Fair Frome, the local Frome charity that currently runs the Food Bank in town, is looking to recruit a special person to run the Furniture Bank which is due to open soon.
Bob Ashford, Chair of Fair Frome Trustees says, “The Furniture Bank is our new forthcoming project that will run along similar lines to the Food Bank, receiving referrals from partner organisations of people who need furniture and household goods and delivering them from donated items free of charge. The project also intends to recycle furniture and other items working with local volunteers and schools.
“The project has already had a huge amount of support from local organisations and will meet a very real local need.
“We are looking to recruit a new co-ordinator to run the scheme working 16 hours per week, with pay in line with the Living Wage Foundation pay rates. The co-ordinator will work to the Fair Frome Co-ordinator and be responsible for all aspects of the scheme – recruiting and managing and supporting volunteers, working from the business and financial plan to establish and maintain a scheme serving the needs of people in crisis, establishing and maintaining systems to record work, representing Fair Frome, driving the van etc.
“This is a really exciting post at a point when Fair Frome is looking to expand its services to people in need. We are therefore especially keen on recruiting someone who shares the ethos of Fair Frome and is able to deliver a project of excellence and make a real difference.“
