FOUR ‘petrol heads’ have bought a £500 car and are doing the Monte Carlo or Bust Rally 2,000 miles in July to raise money for Fair Frome, Bristol Children’s Hospital and St.Peters Portishead Primary School.
As part of their fundraising activities they brought the ‘Flyer’ to Frome Market on Saturday 25th May for all to see and to give people a chance to buy a raffle ticket to be in with a chance of winning the car at the end of the rally.
One of the group, Dan Grimes from Frome said, “It was a great morning, we raised £200 in cash and even had a visit from the Mayor of Frome. The Flyer received lots of attention and a few younger visitors were chuffed to sit in the driving seat.”
Dan and his team-mates, Tony Ahmet, also from Frome and Dave and Gary from Portishead, will be leaving on the 18th July heading over the Alps to Turin, across to Monaco and over the finish line in Nice. All costs are being covered themselves. They also still have spaces for business sponsorship if you would like your name and logo on the car in the form of a vinyl sticker.
