JANUARY’S highly successful Come Together Frome, which was attended by over 600 people, is being repeated on Sunday 8th October from 1.30pm to 4.00pm.
Afternoon tea, activities for all ages including face painting by Painted People and live music from The Frukes and others will comprise an afternoon of free fun. Organised by Fair Frome and Frome Library, the afternoon will kick off a week-long series of activities marking National Libraries Week (9th – 14th October).
The event this time will particularly celebrate the library within the community – books, reading and all the fantastic stuff they offer and facilitate for the whole area. It is also part of Fair Frome’s regular programme of community dining events that encourage people to socialise and find out about services and leisure activities on offer. If anyone would like to come but has no access to transport, please contact Fair Frome, as below.
Come Together Again will also be a ‘Fun Palace’ – part of the annual weekend of arts, science, craft, tech, digital, and sports action created by, for and with local people to promote community at the heart of culture – it will be a space where fun meets learning, where the arts and sciences can meet, and most importantly will be about celebrating what our community has to offer.
The full programme will be available from the library and online (Fair Frome website, www. somersetlibraries.co.uk and Frome Library and Fair Frome Facebook pages) three weeks before the event.
