Frome Film Club will launch their new season, to run from this September to next July, with a programme featuring 10 of the best, highly acclaimed but lesser known releases from the last year.
Kicking off in September in a bucolic Spanish village setting in the company of Spain’s biggest stars, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, in Everybody Knows, the programme then sets off on a global tour, taking in Iran, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, America, Poland, Cuba and Italy. From the exquisite post-war-set, black-and-white Cold War to the contemporary street life setting of Beirut in Capernaum, the films have all been carefully selected for their quality as well as their thought-provoking and engaging content.
Membership costs just £30 for 10 films, and all 10 tickets that you will receive on joining are transferable – so if you can’t make it to a film night, you can simply pass your ticket on to a partner or friend. Films are screened at the Merlin Theatre at 8pm on the second Wednesday of the month. To join, and for more information, go to fromefilm .co.uk.
