Frome Food Assembly, which recently featured on BBC Countryfile, will be holding its next local food tasting extravaganza on Wednesday 27th April.
The event is open to all and the cameras will be rolling once again.
A team from Food Assembly headquarters will be visiting Frome with a team to film the event, to help promote the movement and encourage other communities to start an assembly of their own.
Frome host Pia McGee said, “We hope that anyone who loves local food will feel inspired to come along, see what the Food Assembly is all about, and meet the team from head office. Everyone is welcome, and there will be lots of delicious local food to taste!”
UK country manager, Thomas Nutt explains, “We decided to film at Frome as it’s the biggest of our Food Assemblies; Frome has a real hunger for quality, fresh food and has a dynamic and dedicated network of over 30 farmers and foodmakers, and over 2,000 members.
“What Pia and co-host Lindsay are bringing to Frome is very significant, promoting a sustainable way to eat in the town, supporting local producers and by garnering a loyal community means a future-proof farming and access to fresh food for all.
“We are gearing up for our visit on Wednesday 27th where we will visit local farms, film the activities of organisers Pia and Lindsay, and capture this lively food community on camera for everyone across the UK to see. We hope that many will follow in these footsteps to bring local food to their communities.”
The tasting event is on Wednesday 27th April, at the Steiner School main hall on Park Road from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, no orders are necessary. For more information about the Frome Food Assembly, visit https://foodassembly.com/en/assemblies/164
