Sustainable Frome is running a free transport workshop this Thursday 2nd June to explore the impact of transport and what is currently happening in Frome and beyond.
Electric vehicle expert Kevin Sharpe will be talking about the low carbon electric revolution and Marjory Hatvany from the Missing Links project will give an update on the cycle route.
After the talks there will be time for discussion and planning which could form the first steps towards a sustainable transport plan for Frome.
Sustainable Frome director Anna Francis said, “Transport is a huge, fascinating subject and has a massive impact on our lives. Through exploring the topic together we hope to work out how we can enable and encourage healthy, clean ways to travel in Frome, reduce transport pollution and prepare Frome to be a town fit for the future.
“Countries like India and the Netherlands have already committed to phasing out all diesel and petrol cars by 2030 and Japan now has more electric charging points than fuel garages. It’s certainly food for thought…”
Participants are invited to bring a dish to share at 6.45pm or just to come along to the talks and discussions at 7.30pm. The workshop is taking place in Trinity Hall, next to Trinity Church on Trinity St, BA11 3DE and will finish by 9.30pm.
