ALL are welcome to the Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Frome Hospital to be held this Thursday, 23rd November, at 7.00pm at the Moxon Suite in the hospital.
As well as supporting the hospital, the Friends also serve the community with an outreach programme which for the past two years has centred on the provision of a network of 22 publicly-available defibrillators in the town centre and surrounding villages.
This project, which is understood to be one of the most comprehensive schemes in the UK, has been further developed into the provision of CPR training in local schools.
Peter Smith, chairman of the Friends said, “Frome is fortunate in having a fine community hospital which, together with the medical centre, provides an excellent service to the people of Frome which deserves our support. Frome is a great town for community support and anyone who feels they are able to provide a few hours from time to time, to help out at the hospital or on one of our outreach projects, is very welcome and automatically becomes a Friend.
“We look forward to meeting members of the community at the AGM on 23rd November.”
