Local bands have initiated a fringe festival to complement Frome Festival and bring you even more diverse art.
Two Frome-based Post Punk bands will be launching this with a concert in the garden outside the Garden Cafe on the opening night of the festival on Friday 7th July at 7.30pm.
Frome’s Beef Unit, a new band who some of you may have already seen and who have recently released their first EP, will be joined by Invisible Eyes a new UK/Frome-based post punk, psy, kraut rock off-shoot of Dan Harper’s internationally-acclaimed African fusion based productions, Invisible System.
Invisible Eyes includes local graffiti artist Paul Boswell on bass, and local drummer Matthew Cross alongside Dan on guitar and vocals. This is their debut gig.
Doors open at 7.30pm. Invisible Eyes play at 8pm. Beef Unit at 9pm. The event finishes at 10pm giving you time to move on to other events. On the Saturday the Big Detectives will be playing as a part of the fringe at The Griffin and more events will be announced on Facebook over the festival period.
Organisers say, “Get down the and give them some support and enjoy some new sounds in Frome.”
